Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

Tourist Destination is committed to ensuring the permanent accessibility, integrity, and long-term preservation of its published scholarly content. The journal enforces international open-access preservation standards so that all published research remains freely accessible to future generations of scholars.

1. Verified Digital Repositories and Open Archives

  • Zenodo (CERN / OpenAIRE): All published articles, full-text PDFs, and metadata are systematically deposited in the Zenodo repository, where persistent identifiers and independent archival mirrors are maintained.
  • Internet Archive (Wayback Machine / Fatcat / IA Scholar): All published issues, articles, and supplementary records are automatically crawled, indexed, and permanently archived in the Internet Archive digital library.
  • TÜBİTAK Aperta & National Repositories: Article metadata and full-text records are submitted to national research infrastructures and institutional open archives where applicable.

2. Standard Harvesting & Preservation Architecture

  • OAI-PMH 2.0 Metadata Harvesting: The journal operates a fully compliant OAI-PMH 2.0 metadata repository (/oai?verb=Identify) to support automated indexing, harvesting, and distributed digital preservation.
  • LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Manifest Compatibility: The journal provides a machine-readable LOCKSS & CLOCKSS Archival Manifest allowing participating research libraries and preservation networks to crawl and archive published units.
  • Encrypted Off-Site Backups: Automated database, metadata, and full-text backups are generated on a regular schedule and stored in secure, encrypted off-site cloud environments for disaster recovery and operational continuity.

3. Self-Archiving & Repository Policy (Sherpa Romeo Green)

Authors retain copyright in their work and are permitted to deposit the published Version of Record (Publisher PDF) in institutional or disciplinary repositories, personal websites, and non-commercial academic networks immediately upon publication without any embargo period (under CC BY 4.0).
