Article Withdrawal Policy

Tourist Destination recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their manuscripts during the editorial or peer-review process. The journal applies a transparent, fair, and author-friendly withdrawal policy that upholds research ethics.

1. Withdrawal During Peer Review / Pre-Publication Stage

  • Written Notification: Authors may withdraw their submitted manuscript at any stage prior to final publication by submitting a formal written notification from the corresponding author (via the online submission system or by email to editor@tourdes.org), stating the academic reason for withdrawal.
  • Immediate Release: Upon receipt and processing of the written withdrawal notice by the editorial office, the review process for the submission is terminated, and the authors are immediately free to submit their manuscript to another journal.

2. Ethical Inquiries and Misconduct Investigations

If a manuscript is the subject of an active formal inquiry or investigation concerning potential ethical breaches (such as plagiarism, empirical data fabrication, duplicate submission, or authorship disputes), an author's withdrawal request does not halt the independent ethical inquiry. In accordance with COPE guidelines, the editorial board reserves the right to conclude the ethical review and notify relevant institutions where necessary.

3. Post-Publication Retractions

Once a manuscript has been formally published as a Version of Record, it cannot simply be withdrawn; any post-publication correction or retraction is conducted in accordance with the journal's Corrections, Retractions and Post-Publication Updates Policy.
